Noosa Council Watch

An independent, unofficial record of Noosa Shire Council — what council decided, what they closed the doors on, and why it matters. About this site

Machine transcripts of council's recorded meetings since 2019, every passage cued to the second of council's video.

What Cr Ingrid Jackson said

A name is attached to a voice only where the recording establishes it: they introduced themselves, the chair called on them by name, or the voice matches meetings where they were named. Where none of that holds, their words stay under “Speaker N” and are not counted here, so these totals are a floor, not a full count. Airtime is not substance: a chair speaks to run the meeting, and a short question can matter more than a long answer. Machine transcript; quote the recording, not this page.

Lately

Their longest unbroken passages at the most recent meeting where the recording names them, the General Committee Meeting - 16 March 2020. Each timestamp opens council's recording at that second.

So I have a related question also, and I think this is not for the development assessment staff, but perhaps for the strategic staff. So Kim, perhaps. In the new supply, which is not yet, of course, finally adopted, there seems to be an intent to allow a range of this sort of activity in the venture dry, dry food and drink outlets in the enterprise precinct, and perhaps also we've talked about them being allowed on Hofmann Drive as a brewery of this sort. Has there been a reason why, to me that is meeting the new and modern way of retail and including multi-use where you've got manufacturing and retail and combining and that whole thing which is changing in our society. Is there a reason why in Cooroy that hasn't been moved forward in the new planning …

Yeah, I'm interested in what you had in mind. I'm hearing your report as external consultation and there was an online survey in which you received 260 resident responses. I had another look and I noticed it before at the Noosa Council Facebook page which alerted people on Friday the 20th that they had to fill in the survey by Monday the 24th. They didn't seem to get much time to do that. And also, it's... It says there was a media release here, a press release, but I actually happen to have the Noosa News at home and there was no... I've gone through the Noosa News in February, there was no alert in Noosa News, even if there was a media release. So I'm actually wondering how... That seemed like a very short timeframe to allow people to …

Yes, I'll speak. This is extremely important to all of us. We've been faced with recent severe fire problems and we're concerned that this might continue. So I'm particularly heartened that this has been supported by a grant as well as the council will contribute to make sure this really happens. At the moment the categories cover things like infrastructure, environment and hazard management and community connection and resilience. Clearly all important things that need to be addressed and the fact that this is going to involve more consultation as well as the most importantly the inputs from the Queensland fire services and other expert people means that we should be able to address things that are appropriate. I've added a little bit there to have this reported to council when specific projects are selected as at the moment it's …

Meeting by meeting

Minutes the recording attributes to Cr Ingrid Jackson against the length of each recording. Only meetings where they are named are listed. A meeting missing here is not an absence: they may not sit on that committee, or spoke without the recording establishing who they were. Attendance is a different record.
