What council asked to come back
Council often decides not to decide yet. It asks the CEO for a further report, tells staff to report back, or defers an item to a later meeting. This page lists every such request in a carried resolution since 2016, from council's own minutes, and the later item that answered it, where one can be found.
"Not found" is not "not done". A report can come back under a title that does not name the request it answers, or to a councillor briefing the public never sees. A row is marked not found only after the later minutes and agendas have been searched by hand. Every row links the resolution that asked, so you can check it yourself. If you know where one came back, tell us and we will correct it.
How a return is found. First by rule: council's own "(Deferred from …)" title, the same development application or court file number within a year, or the same item title. Where no rule finds one, by reading the later minutes; those rows say "found by hand". A request is counted as due on the date it states. If it states no date, it is counted as due a year after it was made.
Still being searched: 18 requests where no rule found a return have not yet been settled by hand, or the minutes do not say whether a later item answers them. They are listed separately and not counted as either.
Not found on the public record
Past the date council set, or a year old where it set none, and searched for by hand in the later minutes and agendas without finding the item that answers it.

Noosa Sustainability Institute - Stage 1 Report D. Report back to Council at a future meeting on progress and potential next steps. what was searchedNo report back on the Noosa Sustainability Institute found in minutes (searched "sustainability institute", "NSI", "CSIRO", "research institute", "research portal", "sustainability hub"). The only later references are one-line status entries in Environment Strategy implementation progress reports: P&E Committee agendas 8 Sep 2020 ("Further work on this is required..."), 8 Feb 2022 ("Delayed. No further progress"), 11 Jul 2023 and 5 Dec 2023 ("scheduled for the future"). These report progress on the NSI action but are not a report back on NSI itself and do not cite the 13/16 May 2019 resolution. Leans not returned, but the progress lines mean "never reported on" would overstate it. (checked 2026-10-04) |

1718T146 Stormwater Infrastructure CCTV Inspections - Tender Award deferred A. Defer consideration of the matter to a future Council meeting; and what was searchedRe-tendered rather than brought back: tender 1920T013 for the same work was awarded in December 2019. MIS-EXTRACTED TITLE: line 428 belongs to item 5 '1718T146 STORMWATER INFRASTRUCTURE CCTV INSPECTIONS - TENDER AWARD' (heading line 418), not the Biosphere Reserve review. Deferred tender 1718T146 never came back to a meeting under that number. Council instead re-tendered: a new tender 1920T013 Stormwater Infrastructure CCTV Inspections was awarded at the Special Meeting of 16 Dec 2019 (2019-12-16 Special minutes line 55); that report does not refer back to 1718T146. Feb 2019 S&O agenda operational-plan table says 'Complete the tender evaluation for the Stormwater CCTV inspections'. So the deferred award itself was never decided on the record, but the need was met by a fresh tender — publish carefully. Search terms: 1718T146, CCTV inspection, stormwater infrastructure, tender evaluation, independent evaluation panel, administrative review (2018-2019 minutes and agendas). (checked 2026-10-04) |

Noosa Transport Strategy 2017-2027 - Adoption C. Request the Chief Executive Officer to report to a future Council meeting with an Implementation Plan for the Transport Strategy and Transport Policy to ensure that tangible actions can be undertaken in both the short and medium term following the adoption of the Transport Strategy and Transport Policy. what was searchedNo item titled or resolved as an "Implementation Plan" was found. Two reports cite clause C under "Previous Council Consideration": TRANSPORT STRATEGY RESOURCING (GC 17 Jul 2017, line 119, which added a Project Manager role to implement the strategy) and this 12-month progress report (S&O agenda 10 Jul 2018), whose body sets out "Short Term Projects" and "Medium Term Projects". Neither says it is the requested Implementation Plan. No S&O 10 Jul 2018 minutes are in the corpus, so the GC notes are the first minuted appearance. Searched: transport strategy, transport policy, implementation plan (headings, all years). (checked 2026-10-04) |

Role and Policy Decision: The report should clearly outline the Council’s role and recommend a policy position on the State government’s Shark control program, the use of shark nets and drumlines, including any ongoing and future trials. 2. Advocacy and Support to the State: The Council recognises the importance of advocating for and supporting matters that are significant to our community. The Chief Executive Officer is requested to identify and articulate these matters in the report. This may include, but is not limited to the following: Continued advances in reporting: In its role as an advocate, Council supports the importance of transparent reporting from the State government regarding the effectiveness of shark nets and drumlines noting the annual catch data is provided on the State government website. It urges the consideration of further improvements to data reporting including which side of the nets marine species are caught on, to evaluate the shark control program’s efficacy and therefore minimise impacts on non-target species, and GIS mapping with interactive maps to improve clarity and provide a more comprehensive understanding of the data. Investigation of temporary net relocation during specific periods: Council requests the State government to provide advice and explore the feasibility of temporarily relocating shark nets at Laguna Bay to a location that may mitigate the risk of by-catch and/or whale issues during the upcoming whale migration period. It is noted that DAFs Marine Animal Release Teams have just completed their annual training and whale alarms will be going on the nets during the next changeover. Continuous Evaluation of Technological Advancements: The Council advocates for the State government to continually evaluate the latest technological advancements in shark protection devices. The report should outline other possible recommendations on new technologies for consideration by the State government such as the Shark Safe Barriers’ model of electronic current deterrence developed in South Africa in terms of its cost- effectiveness and success rate. It be agreed that advocacy to the State on any aspect of the Shark Control Program or resolution on a Council position on shark nets not occur until Noosa Councillors have had a presentation from the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF) on the Shark Control Program. This presentation could be a valuable addition to the Council report, providing comprehensive insights into the effectiveness and impact of the program. The DAF’s expertise and firsthand experience with the Shark Control Program would offer a unique perspective, potentially highlighting areas of success and identifying opportunities for improvement for consideration by the Councillors. |

Additional visitor accommodation in the area is likely to result in detrimental impacts on the residential neighbourhood and amenity of permanent residents. 4. The proposal is not consistent with 9.3.5.2 Purpose and Overall Outcomes (1) and (2)(f) of the Visitor Accommodation Code as: a. A committee recommendation the Ordinary Meeting restated word for word is one request, listed under the Ordinary Meeting. Items tagged as further reports and deferrals on council's agendas are also on the Report-backs subject page.
