Noosa Council Watch

An independent, unofficial record of Noosa Shire Council — what council decided, what they closed the doors on, and why it matters. About this site

Machine transcripts of council's recorded meetings since 2019, every passage cued to the second of council's video.

What Mayor Tony Wellington said

10.1 hours on the record at 34 meetings between 14 February 2019 and 19 March 2020: about 18 minutes a meeting, 15% of the recording at the meetings where they spoke.

A name is attached to a voice only where the recording establishes it: they introduced themselves, the chair called on them by name, or the voice matches meetings where they were named. Where none of that holds, their words stay under “Speaker N” and are not counted here, so these totals are a floor, not a full count. Airtime is not substance: a chair speaks to run the meeting, and a short question can matter more than a long answer. Machine transcript; quote the recording, not this page.

Lately

I will just conclude by saying that, of course, there are already a great deal of activities occurring within council. In order to deal with the pandemic. As well as considering continuity of essential services and council operations. There are business continuity plans in place. Our economic development department are extremely active at the moment. Having said that, I would just like to say thank you. Thank you for helping work with the business community as well as the business representatives in terms of the business community organisations. There are all sorts of considerations being undertaken at the moment with regard to fees and charges for local businesses with regard to some …

Meeting by meeting

Minutes the recording attributes to Mayor Tony Wellington against the length of each recording. Only meetings where they are named are listed. A meeting missing here is not an absence: they may not sit on that committee, or spoke without the recording establishing who they were. Attendance is a different record.
