Machine transcripts of council's recorded meetings since 2019, every passage cued to the second of council's video.
What Cr Tom Wegener said
21.3 hours on the record at 222 meetings between 17 April 2020 and 6 October 2026: about 6 minutes a meeting, 4% of the recording at the meetings where they spoke.
A name is attached to a voice only where the recording establishes it: they introduced themselves, the chair called on them by name, or the voice matches meetings where they were named. Where none of that holds, their words stay under “Speaker N” and are not counted here, so these totals are a floor, not a full count. Airtime is not substance: a chair speaks to run the meeting, and a short question can matter more than a long answer. Machine transcript; quote the recording, not this page.
Lately
Their longest unbroken passages at the most recent meeting where the recording names them, the General Committee Meeting - 6 October 2026. Each timestamp opens council's recording at that second.
7.2.4 ZERO EMISSIONS NOOSA (ZEN) Inc. ALLIANCE AGREEMENT
00:51:00 · 2 minI'll speak to it. Different by nature. That's our motto here. And that is brought about through various plans, like the Climate Change Response Plan. And the Corporate Plan. The Environment Strategy. And these plans come from a desire from the community. The staff writes the plans. Come to Council. Iron them out. They go out to public consultation. Through consultation. Again, if they're agreed upon, come back to Council. Voted upon. And that is the manifestation of the desire, the goals, the vision of the Noosa residents. We are so lucky. We are so lucky to have Zen, Inc., helping us realise those goals so dramatically with their volunteer effort of over $900,000, amongst all the other things that they do. They do so much for us with our micro little investment into them. We get, you know, ten, …
7.2.5 NOOSA EVENTS STRATEGIC FRAMEWORK, POLICY, AND GOVERNANCE
01:55:50 · under a minuteA question, yeah. With the destination management plan, we went through an enormous amount of work and consultation. And it appeared to me that we were listening to the community. It was a community-led, community vision for Noosa. How to manage the destination. So that was the community here. We're taking the shift in the focus to the actual events that are coming. But we're morphing it. We're being led by what? Pardon me? Get to your question. Oh, yeah. So that's the way I see it. Is that a correct vision of this is what the community has told us that they want through numerous consultations? We're looking at the destination management plan. These are the events that are going to conform with what the community has told us they want. Is that accurate?
7.2.6 NOOSA AQUATICS CENTRE UPGRADE PLAN AND NOOSA AQUATICS FACILITIES STRATEGIC PLAN
02:53:54 · 1 minJust quickly philosophically that this is what local government does is supplies services that individually and can't be supplied by private capitalistic ways. I grew up in the era of Milton Friedman, and I was totally down with that, like the Reagan-esque laissez-faire. And I was brought up thinking that, and then I looked around and I said, wait a minute, no. And then coming to Australia, now being a councillor, I feel really honoured and see the actual incredible value that local government does actually provide. And for us and how many people, and it's very worthwhile, our rates and supporting this for the benefit of all of the residents, instead of just a few residents getting the best.
Meeting by meeting
Minutes the recording attributes to Cr Tom Wegener against the length of each recording. Only meetings where they are named are listed. A meeting missing here is not an absence: they may not sit on that committee, or spoke without the recording establishing who they were. Attendance is a different record.
